VEO was chosen to deliver Westenergy’s 110 kV substation after it was put out to international tender summer of 2011.

The delivery is a turn-key delivery including design, erection, equipment deliveries electrical installations and commissioning. This substation represents VEO’s traditional energy knowhow. The civil works on the substation started in September last year and finished in March 2012 after which the commissioning testing took place. In accordance with the contract the substation was connected to the grid on Thursday 12th of April.

Westenergy is very pleased with the co-operation with VEO.

The substation connects the waste-to-energy plant to the 110 kV grid. The produced power of the waste-to-energy plant will be 15 MW and it will also produce heat for the Vaasa area’s district heating. The substation delivered to Westenergy represents typical VEO substation design.

Westenergy is very pleased with the co-operation with VEO. The project is delivered on time and the installation work has been excellent.

VEO is one of about 80 local companies carrying out Westenergy’s waste-to-energy power plant project.
