20 years of collaboration at Joutseno pulp mill

This year VEO and bioproduct and bioenergy producer Metsä Fibre celebrate 20 years of collaboration at the Joutseno pulp mill. The cooperation started in 1998 when a new recovery line was built at the pulp mill. Over the years VEO has made several modernisation and extension projects at Joutseno, of which the latest was increasing the electrical capacity of the pulp mill’s pumping station. Now in April 2018, VEO delivered VEDA low-voltage switchgear, a transformer and a VEBA busduct to Joutseno, as an addition to the pulp mill’s existing low-voltage switchgear. The turnkey contract was signed in October 2017 and the project was delivered, installed and commissioned within six months.

Metsä Fibre’s long cooperation with VEO is based on trust and quality. “VEO’s deliveries are of high quality and the collaboration is smooth. Together we have overcome every challenge,” says Pekka Kettunen, Maintenance Engineer, Reliability at the Metsä Fibre-owned Botnia Mill Service, who has followed the cooperation from the start. VEO’s Sales Manager Marko Kuula agrees: “Our own switchgear products and well-managed projects, as well as VEO’s technical expertise and support, have created continuity in our collaboration. Our long relationship with the entire Metsä Group is important to us and we look forward to collaborating also in the future.”
